Here's what Charles Oropallo of Peterborough NH does to keep busy!

Charles Oropallo's Bio:

Charles Oropallo authored and implemented a Bulletin Board System (BBS) called Access-80 in November 1977. It operated on a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model I, Level II microcomputer. There were only a handful of such systems online for public use on the entire planet at that time. Access-80 provided personal messaging for local computer enthusiasts. It was also concurrently placed online in Schenectady, NY. In 1982, Charles Oropallo moved from the Albany, NY area to Nashua, NH, and so did Access-80. His original Nashua Access-80 setup is shown at http://Access80.com. Before long Charles's Access-80 software was concurrently online in Londonderry NH as well as Nashua. Access-80 remained online until 1987.   In June of 1998 Charles Oropallo founded what was to become CharlesWorks at http://CharlesWorks.net in order to provide reliable and affordable hosting and web development solutions. At that time, he was only providing Internet connectivity for several personal and organizational websites related to the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) at very low speed. Over time, Charles's desire to provide reliable (as well as still being affordable) Internet (website development) solutions moved CharlesWorks into more commercially oriented markets. Despite focusing on business websites, Charles Oropallo and his 8 person CharlesWorks team still helps individuals get personal sites on the web.   Contact Charles Oropallo at CharlesWorks to get you out here onto your own web site today! Part of our uniqueness is how we bill - by the MINUTE. For example, if we do a small task for you that takes 19 minutes to complete, you are billed for 19 minutes - not the hour - not rounded up. This encourages our clients to get the work done that they need on a regular basis. Our goal is to get most small changes made within 2 to 3 workdays. So email Charles or visit http://CharlesWorks.net for an affordable solution coupled with the best customer service in the field!   Our major specialties are maintaining our own hosting infrastructure - DNS servers, web servers, and email servers, to name but a few - and in superior customer service - Charles Oropallo and his team of experts can develop your entire web presence and get you found on the web.

From that time, he has supported the cause of nonviolent conflict resolution. As its State Coordinator, Charles Oropallo oversees the operations of the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVPNH) in New Hampshire. AVPNH organizes and facilitates experiential workshops in non-violent conflict resolution, mostly in the New Hampshire State Prison system. People often forget that violence includes things people say intending to hurt or destroy others which can often be more damaging than physical violence.

  • Founder at Access-80

Access-80 was started in November 1977 by Charles Oropallo as a hobbyist Bulletin Board System (BBS) site that ran on really old computer systems (Tandy's Radio Shack TRS-80 originally running on a Z80 microprocessor and ultimately on a Z80A and then Z80B microprocessor). Such systems were the forerunners to many of our newer systems. Charles Oropallo developed the software that ran on it that allowed communications between computer users and spawned the ideas for many of the current systems in use today.
